Local Support Groups

The following grief counseling and support groups are available in our region. These organizations offer help to people who have experienced loss through death. Your funeral director can offer additional information at your request.

Grief Counselor/Support Group Facilitator

Julie Leet joined Loose Funeral Homes this year as grief counselor and support group facilitator. Julie plans to enable Loose Funeral Homes to be a major contributor in grief education and support for children, youth and adults of our community.

Local Support Groups and Organizations

There are many national and international groups available who have local chapters and can provide valuable information and assistance. Since these groups were developed to address specific losses, they can also provide beneficial emotional support. People who have experienced similar losses understand and have valuable insight.

For additional information, we suggest that you contact the specific organization listed below which assists in your area of loss. Also, ask about where the nearest local chapter is that you could attend.

Self-help support group for bereaved parents and grandparents. The primary purpose is to assist in the positive resolution of grief and to foster physical, mental and emotional help. Group discussions range from helping the grieving accept death to handling family holidays after the death of a child. A wide range of literature and other information is available.
