Anna Pottorff

Middletown - Anna Daymond Pottorff, 101, Middletown, passed away November 23, 2007 at Middletown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. She was born in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois in 1906 to Wiley and Della Daymond. She lived in Fairfield, Il until 1936 when she and her husband, Robert, moved to Anderson, Indiana. They resided on a farm near Markleville since 1946. Anna was a homemaker and had been employed at The Dress Factory in Albion, Il, Ward Stilson and Delco-Remy in Anderson. Anna was presently a member of Markleville North Christian Church and had been a long time member of East Lynn Christian Church. She was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship Group. She was raised and was a member of the Fairfield Christian Church in Fairfield, Illinois. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann Ray Seal of Markleville; sister, Pearl Holmes of Lakeland, Florida; daughters-in-law, Diana Pottorff of Yorktown and Sharon Pottorff of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Anita Andy Marsh of Anderson, James "Chip" Pottorff of Middletown, Robert Alan Pottorff of Pendleton, Heather Anthony Lowhorn of Pendleton and Ben Rebecca Seal of Greenfield and seven great grandchildren, Lauren, Christopher and Jordan Marsh, Grace and Owen Lowhorn and Henry and Anna Seal. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; Billie Reid, Damon Holmes, Barbara Thompson, Vicki Kitchen, Joan Cook, Carol Parrish, and Judy O?Bryant and a special niece Evelyn Gold. Surviving great nieces and nephews include; Marie Meyers, Steve Nesbit, Tina O?Connor, Debbie McIntyre, Jenny Watts, Theresa Meyer and Monty Parrish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Pottorff who passed away April 22, 2006; parents and sons, Robert Wayne Pottorff and James D. Pottorff, Sisters; Wilma Goodwin and Violet O?Bryant. Brothers; Wiley Daymond, Victor Daymond. Anna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a wonderful cook and an accomplished seamstress. She loved working in her garden and always grew beautiful flowers. She had a wonderful gift of blessing others. Anna?s life reflected her love of Jesus and His church. She was a woman of prayer. Services will be Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 10:00 AM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson, with Pastor Shawn Easterling and the Rev. Gerald Burnett. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 PM on Monday, November 26, 2007 at the funeral home, south chapel.
