Arnett E. Westerfield

Anderson - Arnett E. Westerfield, 72, Anderson, went to be with the Lord February 28, 2008 after an extended illness at St. Vincent Hospital at Indianapolis. He was born in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. He was a member of Cumberland Road Christian Church in Noblesville. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors, Department #7200, Plant #10, after 37 years of service. He was an outstanding guardsman and enlisted man of the 138th Signal Battalion "Anacdutra" in 1962. He was a member of the national register of "Who's Who" in executive and professional men. He was a man that could do most everything. He built a motorcycle from scratch and won a trophy when he entered it in competition. He was the owner of Video-To-Go and Tanning from 1985-2006 with 2 locations in Anderson, 1 location in Pendleton and 1 location in the Indianapolis area. The last location in Pendleton was sold March 2006. He enjoyed all of his customers. He was owner/partner in the 1960s of Wespark Landscaping in Madison County, he owned Lloyds Landing Beauty Salon, he owned A&D and A&J Lawncare, he owned and partnered A&J Tree Service, owned and partnered Mound's Consignment Clothing and Jewelry and Elegant Lady Wiggery. He also filmed weddings, had a balloon business and decorated weddings. He was a movie and game wholesaler and also did flea markets in Indianapolis with movies, games, balloons and wholesaler merchandise. He was into many businesses on the internet; he loved the internet business world. He had a beautiful vacation home on the Ohio River that he built with the help of his nephew, Daniel. He loved to jet ski, boat, water ski, and anything to do with the river. He had several family reunions at his home on the river. He loved all his extended family and kept up with all of them. He loved to put a "smile" on everyone's face up until the very last. He loved to travel the states and spend time at his condos in Florida. In his younger years, he would go to Florida when laid off from GM and work for his former father-in-law, Gerald "Jerry" Anderson. He gave back to the community in many ways on personal levels to help others and donated to elementary and junior/senior high schools and sponsored many educational things for Anderson Community Schools and the Pendleton School District. He sponsored a Pendleton Junior Baseball Team every year. He loved to give to children. He is survived by his significant other, Martha Westerfield of Noblesville; three children, Jay wife, Deborah Westerfield of Bloomington, Divina Westerfield of Sarasota, Florida and Jan Chambers of Anderson; two stepsons, Steve wife, Michelle Pipkin of Louisville, Kentucky and Jeff wife, Gina Pipkin of New Palestine; grandchildren, Jeremy wife, Monica Westerfield of Salt Lake City, Utah, Corey wife, Brandy Chambers of Alexandria, Kai Westerfield of Bloomington and Arianna Westerfield of Sarasota, Florida; two great granddaughters, Asia and Victoria Chambers of Alexandria; step-grandchildren, Austin, Alysa, Tyler, Brooke and Ashley Pipkin; two sisters, Bonnie Van Horn and Nadine Kenny DeLong; sister-in-law, Jean Westerfield and brother-in-law, Charles Wilcox; nephews, Johnnie, Daniel, Jimmy and Joe Westerfield, Jack Bennett, Tim Bennett, Merlin and Roger Westerfield, Charles and Jerry Westerfield, Bill Weedman and Preston Forsythe; nieces, Patty Layman, Judy Westerfield, Cecelia Loveless, Debbie Delong, Darla Delong, Imelda Connour and Noelle Foresythe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ansil Jay Westerfield and Carrie Westerfield Shrout; stepfather, Art Shrout; brothers, Cecil, Lester, and Reathel Westerfield and sisters, Alma Weedman, Clara Wilcox and Dorease Westerfield. He will be shown at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson from 2-6:00 PM on Sunday, March 2, 2008. Services will be Monday, March 3rd at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jeff Conrad officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
