Jerry Allen Platt

Jerry Allen Platt Sr., 55, of Alexandria, passed away on August 5, 2026, at home in Alexandria, IN, surrounded by family. He was born on March 5, 1971, in Anderson, Indiana, and resided most of his life in Alexandria. Jerry graduated from Anderson High School. He was employed at Madison County Correctional Complex. He was an avid fisherman; if weather permitted, he was in his boat on the lake or in his canoe on the river. He was a diehard Mark Martin fan and loved his NASCAR. He adored his grandson, who was his favorite fishing buddy. He loved his family and all his friends. And tolerated everyone else. Jerry never had a problem speaking his mind; you always knew where you stood with him. He loved gaming on the computer, IRacing one of his favorites. Settlers board games with his friends could keep him up most of the night. He appreciated several genres of music. Jerry was loyal to the people he cared about. Jerry was not seen without a Marlboro in one hand and a Mountain Dew in the other. Jerry loved jokes and pranks; you were never surprised by what he was willing to do. He loved cooking for everyone; he enjoyed grilling and making things people had never tried before. Jerry is survived by his loving spouse, Marcia (Hull) Platt, whom he married in 1992; sons, Nicholas Ronald Platt, Jerry Allen Platt Jr., and Kyle Levi Platt. His one and only grandson, Jack Ronald Platt. Uncles, Mark Platt, Don Platt, and Wayne Sexton and their spouses. Brother-in-law Paul Ronald Hull Jr., and sister-in-law Carolyn Kay Hull. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. And several friends and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Robert Platt. Father-in-law Paul Ronald Hull Sr., mother-in-law Linda Kay Hull, brother-in-law Jeffrey David Hull, and grandparents Edward and Celest Ketchum, Howard and Claughtee Daniel. Visitation for Jerry will be at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory on Monday, August 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Open mic will begin at 6:00 p.m.; if you have a story about Jerry (most of us do), please share it if you would like to with everyone.
