Jerry A Shaul

Jerry Allen Shaul, 84 of Middletown passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, from a sudden illness at Community Hospital in Anderson, IN. He was surrounded by family as he peacefully met his Lord and Savior. He was born June 12, 1938, the son of Russell Madison and Mary Louise (Russell) Shaul. He was the youngest of six children. They adored their baby brother and stayed committed to his well-being their whole life. Jerry attended Anderson High School graduating in 1958. He remained an avid Indian fan and held season tickets for over 20 years. He married his high school sweetheart Wilma Wright in 1959. Soon after they moved to a farm in Mechanicsburg, IN to raise a family. In those days he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, farming, and his many hunting dogs. He attended Crossroads United Methodist Church and was involved in many activities with his church family. Nearing retirement he met Nancy McAtee. They married on July 27, 1996, and an ever-bigger-loving family came with her. Upon his retirement from Delco Remy, Jerry and Nancy became full-time social butterflies. Their life was full of travel, grandkids, ballgames, church, and family. Jerry enjoyed cooking and had many requests for his homemade noodles and pies. He blessed our lives with laughter. His unique wit made him one of a kind and we will miss him dearly. After parting ways, Jerry would exclaim with love "Have a good life". Jerry is survived by his children Rick Shaul, Beth (Nick Shaker) Spiker, Steve(Jennifer) Shaul, Julie Carter, Judy (Dan) Ginder, Pam Griffis, Tom (Tracey) McAtee, and former wife Wilma Shaul. Grandchildren Cody Spiker, Cassendra Spiker, Nathaniel Shaul, Zachary Shaul, Cheyenne Carter, Andrew Halila, Kasey(Peyman) Dalirifar, Ryan (Ambrielle) McAtee, Brayden (Haleigh) Ginder, Ashely Griffis, Tyler Griffis, Noah Griffis, Mallory Falls, Collin McAtee. Great-Grandchildren, Camden McAtee, Novella Ginder, Bently Henry, and Noreen Ginder. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Preceded in death by Wife Nancy Shaul, both parents and siblings, Kenneth(Pat) Shaul, Arlene (Jack) Faulkenburg, Melvin (Phyllis) Shaul, Duane (Ina) Shaul, and Marilyn (Bill) Denman, dear friend Tom Hayden. Special thank you to his Nurse Aid Cindy Calhoun. Visitation will be by Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 11 am-1 pm at Loose Funeral Home, Anderson, IN. With funeral services at 1 pm the same day. The burial will take place at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton, IN. Memorial contributions can be made to Crossroads United Methodist Church.
