John M. Chaille

Anderson - John M. Chaille, 88, Anderson, died October 19, 2007 at Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness. He was born February 12, 1919 in Ft. Branch, Indiana, and had lived in Anderson since 1950. John was Vice President and General Manager of Emge Packing Company from 1950-1982. He served his country with the U.S. Army. A member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, he was Co-owner of Don's Bar-B-Que, Past Chairman of the Board of Citizens Banking Co., Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. John's Hospital, Past President of Madison County United Way, Past President of St. Mary's Parish Council, a member of Rotary Club and the East Maplewood Cemetery Board and an Eagle Scout. He received the Purdue Univeristy Agricultural Alumni Association Certificate of Distinction. He also received special recognition from the Purdue Animal Science Dept., the Indiana Beef & Pork Producers Association and Madison County 4-H for his assistance in animal agriculture. He possessed a zest for living through a variety of active outdoor activities, including fishing, golf, tennis, snow and water skiing. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he is survived by his wife, whom he married June 26, 1931, Mildred Emge Chaille; children & spouses, Tom Chaille, wife Penny King of Sun City. AZ, James O. Chaille, wife Ann Hitz of Anderson, Dr. J. Bruce Chaille, wife Trudy of Anderson, Patricia Eckstein Chambers, husband Dr. Kelly Chambers of Muncie/Anderson, and Dr. Richard P. Chaille, wife Jean Laughlin of Anderson; grandchildren, Christopher Chaille, Susan Cane, Thomas Chaille, Dr. Peter Chaille, Katy Chaille, Brian Eckstein, Lisa Eckstein, Jason Chaille, Carrie Chaille, Chuck Chaille, Megan Chaille, Matt Chaille, Tara Chaille, Jack Chaille and J.R. Chaille; eight great grandchildren; special friends and caregivers, Nancy Lydia Perry, Michelle Haines, Tina Peters and Amanda Turner. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2801 Lincoln St., Anderson, IN, with Rev. Edward Dhondt officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson . Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Monday, October 22, 2007 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, IN.
