Mollie Etter Jones

Markleville - Mollie Etter Grider Jones, 89, Markleville, died February 20, 2003 at Community Hospital, Anderson after due to complications from Alzheimers. She was cared for by her family and lived with her daughter Linda Everett. She was born July 25, 1913 in Russell County, Kentucky, and resided in Markleville, Indiana. She was a resident of this area since 1946 She worked in the Plant 6 Green Room for many years and retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors Plant 20 in 1982 after 27 years of service. She was a member of Markleville Methodist Church and in her later years attended Ovid Community Church and enjoyed hearing Rev. Johnnie K. Summers preach. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #492, in Shirley. Mollie enjoyed playing Rook with friends, Trouble which she called the ''Popping Game'' with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She lived a pleasant, quiet life and enjoyed going out to eat. Mollie also enjoyed gardening until her health failed. She is survived by her daughter, Linda & husband Byrne Everett; son, Charles & wife Dolores Jones; a sister, Fannie McKinley of Jamestown, Kentucky; close grandchildren, Cynthia Jolyn & husband Tim Lambert of Markleville, Sarah Denise Everett of Indianapolis, J. Anthony ''Tony'' Everett of Anderson and Angela Lee & husband Stephen ''Brett'' Thompson of Markleville; grandchildren, Chuck & wife Ellen Jones, Teresa & husband Les Caudill, Mark Jones, Chris & wife Teresa Jones, Ellen Jones, Laura Jones and their children; great grandchildren, David Ryan Upshaw, Stephen Anthony Upshaw, Joshua Michael Upshaw, Timothy Aaron Lambert, Mackenzie Leigh Everett, Megan Lynn Everett, Schuyler Brett Thompson, Sterling Beck Thompson and Sonny Elias Thompson; a great many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband Kenneth Beck Jones in 1954, her parents William & Della Mae Phelps Grider, a grandson Kenny J. Jones in 2002, a great grandson Silas Gabriel Thompson in 2002, six brothers Frank Ewing Grider, Herman Lewis Grider, Wallace Grider, Raymond Grider, Hollis Grider and Monte Russell Grider and four sisters Nona Grider, Nellie Dunbar, Nannie Campbell and Annie Coffey. Services will be Saturday, February 22, 2003 at 2:30 PM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. John K. Summers of Albany Church officiating.
