Tom Robinson

Anderson - Tom Robinson, 91, Anderson, passed away peacefully February 3, 2012 at St. John's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 5, 1920 in Yorkshire, England, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He served England in the British Army during WWII in the Royal Regiment of Artillery. Captured in Singapore, he was a Japanese POW for 3 1/2 years. Tom and his family immigrated to the United States from England in May of 1959. Tom owned his own plumbing business in England. After immigrating to Anderson, he worked for Hammon's Plumbing. He then worked at Chevrolet Truck & Bus as a pipefitter retiring in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Molly Sheldon Robinson, whom he married May 3, 1947 in Saltaire, England. Sister-in-law, Ann Larimore Jack. Sons, John Robinson Luanne, Colin Robinson Darlene both of Anderson. Daughters, Bev Esarey Chuck of Anderson, June Ray Dwight of Trinity, AL, and Karen Coleman Arthur of Lake Wylie, SC. Sister-in-law, Marie Moncaster David of Baildon, England. Brother-in-law, Harry Sheldon Liz of Harpenden Herts, England. Grandchildren, London Nelson Randy of Brownsburg, Indiana, Mike Leslie Carissa of Anderson, Heather Robinson Craig Baumgardt of Lafayette, John Robinson II Brittany Moore of Anderson, Leslie Johnson Eric of Fortville, Kyle Robinson Dakota Robinson of Anderson, Dana Ray, Sarah Ray and Laura Tucker Eric all from Decatur, AL, Evan Sidwell of Bloomington and Bryanne Sidwell of Indianapolis. Nephews, Elmer Borders Debbie of Indianapolis and Doug Borders Sharon Borders of Kokomo. 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Shuttleworth and Tom Robinson. Brother Bill Robinson; sisters, Ada Robinson and Florrie Robinson all from England. Brother-in-law, Elmer Borders.
