Wanda Louise DeVol

Wanda Louise DeVol, 82, of Anderson, passed away on January 4, 2014 at the Edgewater Woods Nursing Home Anderson. She was born on January 17, 1931 in Anderson, and resided all of her life in Anderson. She retired as the Office Manager for Sowers of Seeds Counseling. Previously she worked at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, St. John's Hospital, Treasurer's Office under Horace Hays, Anderson License Branch as the assistant manager under Jim Abraham, and at Stoops Express in broker payroll. Wanda was a member of American Legions Auxillary, AFD Auxillary, Women's Republican Club, active supporter of the Mounds Detachment Marine Corp League. She was a very loving, devoted mother and wife. She loved to cook, write poetry and short stories. She also enjoyed Christian music, specifically the Gaithers, as her children grew up she participated many, many years with the PTA, field trips, home room mother and 4-H leader. Wanda is survived by her children, Loree Bartle of Anderson, Linda Jarolim of Midway Park, NC, David DeVol of Bellevue, NE, Lisa Brian Harney of Anderson, sister, Virginia "Ginny" Barnes of Anderson, step-daughter, Christina Brannan of Hamilton, OH, nine grandchildren, Jama Humphries, James "Adam" Alexander, John DeVol girlfriend, Mallory Dimitt, Brian DeVol, Ross Beth DeVol, Chad Destiny Taylor, Jeffrey Jami Taylor, Michael DeVol girlfriend Hayley Downey, Trista McNabb, Jason McNabb, and Nathan Wright; great-grandchildren, Timothy A. DeVol, Jacob Short, Jordan Short, Alexa Humphries, Cody Jones- DeVol, Colton Taylor, Caleb Taylor, Peyton Taylor, "Baby" Jay Taylor, Adrianna Foutch, Timothy B. McNabb, Alex Fitzgerald, Hailey McNabb, Zoey McNabb, and Avery McNabb. Special niece Jan Barnes Swaim, and special nephew, John Barnes; Several other nieces and nephews; very special friends, Alice Allen, David "DJ" Leigh, and her furry friend, "Fluffy". She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry DeVol, son, Timothy P. DeVol, granddaughter, Melissa K. Taylor, grandson, Aaron David Alexander, grandchild, Angel Taylor, and parents Clifton Stewart and Myrtle Taylor; special nephew James David Barnes Visitation will be held Thursday, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson. Services will be Friday at 11:30, at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Schwartz and Dr. Susan Jones officiating.
