Alexander J. Steel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alexander J. Steel, 77, of Anderson, passed away on July 3, 2022, in his home. He was born on June 10, 1945, in Newton, Scotland, the son of John and Jemima Steel. Alex was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He retired from Verizon. Alex enjoyed playing console and computer games. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage and liked attending the Highland Games. Alex's grandchildren were his pride and joy. Alex was preceded in death by his son, James Steel, his parents, and his brothers, Adam Steel and John Steel. He is survived by his wife, Betty Steel, Anderson; his sons, John Steel (Jennifer Gustafson), Pendleton, and Alexander Steel (Tara), Palm Bay, FL; his grandchildren, Camden, Evan, Joshua, Elizabeth, and Andrew; his daughter-in-law, Lisa Steel, Pennsylvania; his sisters-in-law, Deborah Fitzpatrick (Charles Purdy), Millville, MA, and Sylvia Sabourin (Peter), Whitinsville, MA; his brothers-in-law, Edward Dunbar (Gayle), Milford, MA, and Eldon Dubar, Jr., Philippines; and his canine companion, "Bandit". The family would like to thank Community Hospice for their care and kindness. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 4:00 P.M. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson, with visitation from 3:00-4:00 P.M.
