David Lee Hinton

September 16, 1930 - April 29, 2022

David Lee Hinton, 91, Anderson, passed away on April 29, 2022, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. He was born on September 16, 1930, in Anderson where he resided all of his life. David attended Anderson High School. He was a craftsman for and retired from Ultra Play (Recreation Equipment) after 55 years. Woodworking was David’s favorite hobby. On January 13, 1949, David married Mary Magdalene Van Meter in Phoenix, AZ. He was a faithful member of Circle of Hope Wesleyan Church (Central Wesleyan) in Anderson. David was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mary, his parents, Charles Neal and Dolly Bell Hinton, his brothers, Neal Keith Hinton and John Layton Hinton, and his sister, Sara Ann Thomas. He is survived by his children, Sherry Lynn Briner, Indianapolis, Michael Lee Hinton (Nola), Aubrey, TX, and Davina Leann Burnett (Dale), New Rochelle, NY; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Marie Chambers, John Michael Hinton, Bethany Ann Marie Strother, and Dana, Dionne, and Danielle Burnett; and his eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 11:30 A.M. at Circle of Hope Wesleyan Church, 2406 Delaware Street, Anderson, with Rev. Keith Hinton, Rev. Doug Hinton, and Rev. John Michael Hinton officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
