David T. "Dave" Hiatt, 88, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2021. He was born on March 20, 1933, in Deming, IN to Worth and Irene (Barron) Hiatt. Dave was a 1951 graduate of Anderson High School. He retired from Delco-Remy Plant #16 where he worked as a toolmaker. Dave was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and the UAW. Dave's favorite leisure time activities were golf, bowling, playing bridge, and dancing. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Lynn and close friends. Most of all, Dave cherished time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Dorothy Schmitt, and numerous aunts and uncles. Dave is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lynn Hiatt; his daughters, Pamela Kulow (Mark), Teri Michael (Jason), and Julie Wood (Paul); his grandchildren, Sara Kulow Waldron (Ben), Nicole Wood (James), Jeremy Wood, Andrea Wood, Leslie Wood, Richard Wood, and Michael Wood (Kristin); his brother-in-law, James Schmitt (Judy); and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 17 at 1:00 P.M. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson, with visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Pastor Dennis Zirkle will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
