James E. "Jed" Dye Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James E. "Jed" Dye, 77, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2022. He was born on February 24, 1945, in Anderson, Indiana, where he resided all of his life. Jed graduated from Anderson High School. He worked for Delco-Remy Division of General Motors and retired after 36 years of service. Jed also faithfully served his community as the assistant director of Madison County EMA for a number of years as well as serving as an Edgewood Police Officer and Edgewood Firefighter. He was very involved with his children's activities as they were growing up. He was a Pack Leader in the Boy Scouts and was a Little League coach. Jed also liked to scuba dive, was an avid turkey hunter, and member of the Fall Creek Valley Conservation Club. Jed is survived by his loving children, Amy "Jo-Jo" (Nathan) Jones and D.J. (Nora) Dye; grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Burris, Joshua Smith, Billy T. Davis, Marquiese McClendon, and several great and great-great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are his bonus family, Yvonne Couch and Celeste Couch; and dear friend and caregiver, Guy McConnell. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph L. Dye, and his mother, Amy Dye Kiesling. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street Anderson, IN.
