James R. Slagle

James R. Slagle, 76, of Anderson, passed away on April 23, 2022, at the Rawlins House in Pendleton. He was born on June 15, 1945, in Monticello, Kentucky, the son of Roy and Gertie Slagle. Jim graduated from Yorktown High School in 1964. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a brick mason and a painter for majority of his life, but also worked for a short period of time at Delco Remy. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Muncie, IN, the American Legion, and as an avid outdoorsman. He loved going fishing, hunting, and mushroom hunting. Jim is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Farmer and Karla Slagle; granddaughter, Jasmine Slage; and one great-granddaughter, Millie. Also, surviving are his siblings, Doyle Slagle, Delema Martin, and Jeannie (Tim) Richman, and several nieces, nephews, cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Leland Slagle and Ina Marcum. The family would like to give a special thanks to the entire staff at the Rawlins House for all their love and care of dad. Visitation will be held Monday, May 2, 2022, 10:30 am - 11:30 am at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN. Services will follow visitation at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Marion National Cemetery, Marion, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Patriot Guard Riders. www.loosecares.com.
