Joseph Lee Branch

September 30, 1928 - February 4, 2022

Joseph Lee Branch, 93, of Anderson, passed away surrounded by his family on February 4, 2022. He was born on September 30, 1928, in Anderson, Indiana, where he resided most of his life. Joe graduated from Anderson High School. He was a master of many talents and a jack of all trades. He spent his early years working as a mechanic for Fullington Electric and later worked and retired from skill trades for Delco-Remy. Family was very important to Joe, especially his grandchildren. They have great memories when they were young of spending many weekends at County Squire Lakes in North Vernon where he taught them to hike, swim, ride bikes, and fish. Joe loved to refurbish old furniture and built several new pieces including 11 grandfather clocks and kitchen cabinets for many family members. He loved to repair bicycles and lawnmowers and would give them to anyone who was in need of one. He restored several old cars and belonged to Central Indiana Old Car Club. He loved to sing and play country and bluegrass music with his many friends, as well as his many guitars. He was always ready to play his harmonica and his favorite songs, "Wildwood Flower" and "You Are My Sunshine." Everyone in the surrounding neighborhoods knew him as the old man on his bicycle, and he rode outside every day weather permitting and inside if not. He rode his inside bicycle 93 miles on his 93rd birthday on September 30th. He will be greatly missed by everyone. "To know him was to love him!" Joe is survived by his loving children, Tim (Willa) Branch and Cindy Willis; grandchildren, David Branch, Darrin Branch (Aaron Fullerton), and Darci Thomas (Lisa Rude); and great-granddaughter, Chloe Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Alice Branch; son, Greg Branch; and siblings, Bob, Bud, Jack and Art Branch and Wilma Brown, Lou Day, and Polly Reeder. Visitation will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street Anderson, IN. Services will follow visitation at 6:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Claude Creel officiating. The family encourages everyone to wear a mask and for casual attire to be worn. Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park. www.loosecares.com.
