Judith Carter

June 22, 2022

Judith "Judy" Carter, 87, of Fishers, passed away on June 22, 2022, at Independence Village of Fishers South after a brief battle with leukemia. She was born on November 11, 1934, in Anderson, the daughter of Alden Maurice ""Chick" and Minola Mae Sylvester. Judy later moved to Fishers where she had lived for the last three years at Independence Village, and enjoyed making many new friends, playing Bingo, and serving as vice-president of the Resident Council. Judy graduated from Anderson High School in 1952. She was a homemaker. After her husband "Carter" retired, they spent their winters in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She also found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Judy was a member of the Madison County Ladies Shrine Club, where she had served as past president. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Everhart and Darla (John, Jr.) Misz; grandchildren, Whitney (Travis) Sealls, Kiley (Guru) Pattar, and Lily Misz; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Sarah (Bill) Madren, Nora Shaffer, and Melvin (Barbara) Sylvester; and several nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Carter; and sister, Melva Tegge. A graveside service will be held at East Maplewood Cemetery on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Billey officiating. www.loosecares.com.
