Mary Patricia "Pat" Eckhardt

November 2, 1932 - April 15, 2022

Mary Patricia “Pat” Eckhardt, 89, of Anderson, left this mortal coil, peacefully on April 15. She was born in Anderson, to Theodore and Lula Sanders, November 2, 1932. She was married to Jack J. Eckhardt who preceded her in passing on June 8, 1988. Pat was a graduate of Anderson High School and Ball State Nursing School. A brilliant mind and compassionate heart, she retired from psychiatric nursing at New Castle Developmental Center in 1996. She continued to work part-time in the nursing field, after retirement, well into her 70s. Always the adventure seeker, Pat learned to fly a Piper Cub airplane, rode in hot air balloons, and more recently could be seen on Lake Webster, tubing with her great-grandsons at age 85. Trish loved hoisting a pint on family game night and was rarely defeated. She enjoyed testing her keen intellect with trivia games, word puzzles, and brain teasers and was an avid fan of game shows and late night talk shows. She had many devotees, but none more so than her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her GG, (Great-Grandma), which became her most beloved moniker. She is survived by her children, DeAnne (Tom) Kuhn, Denise (Timothy) Ebbert, Brett (Brenda) Eckhardt and Dawn (Peggy) Eckhardt; her grandchildren, Rachel (Tyler), Adam (Melissa), Josh (Jessica), Raegan (Bill), Adrienne, Kylie, Ashley, Cody, Olivia and Chelsea; her great-grandchildren, Jack (Courtney), Sam, Aiden, Ivy, Noah, Avery, Jaxon, Jyllian, Jocelyn, McKenna, Indica, Zayne, October, Karliah, and Violet; her sister-in-law, Janet Kessler; her many nieces and nephews; and her special friends of 60 years, LeeAnn and Dallas Gusler and Candy Killian.
