Christopher Thomas Cody Allen

Christopher Thomas Cody Allen, 36, of Elwood, passed away on September 5, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on April 11, 1990, in Anderson, Indiana, and resided most of his life in Elwood. Christopher graduated from Elwood Community High School in 2008 and Lincoln Tech Automotive Technology School in June 2017. He worked for McDonalds (Elwood/Tipton), Frito-Lay (Frankfort) and most recently as a correctional officer at the Pendleton Reformatory for nine years. Christopher was a gentle giant with a big heart who loved deeply and cherished his family and friends. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle and Brenda and Jeremy will forever miss his daily check-ins, humorous antics, and the laughter he brought into their lives. He was a loyal and faithful friend who was always there to offer a shoulder when someone needed it-and of course, gave the best bear hugs anyone could ask for. Christopher treasured the camaraderie he shared with his co-workers at Pendleton Reformatory and was known for his goofy sense of humor and ability to brighten anyone with a hearty laugh, a good joke, or a crazy Tik Tok post. He was the most fun in the family when it came to game night, oh the laugher! Like his grandmother Judy, he never met a baby he didn’t love. He was an avid classic car enthusiast, rehabbing every auto he could get his hands on. He was a “Yee Hawing” Duke of Hazzard fan, he loved spending time at the Anderson Speedway and attending concerts with one of his best friends and fellow prankster, Dave Chappel. Music brought him great joy, and he especially enjoyed concerts by Jelly Roll and Post Malone. He was looking forward to attending Breaking Benjamin concert this month. Christopher will live in the hearts and memories of everyone who knew and loved him. We find comfort knowing he will be in good company when he reunites with his father and grandparents. Chris, your wings were ready, our hearts were not! Christopher is survived by his loving mother, Brenda Kay Allen and her significant other, Romell Cotton; brother, Jeremy (Erica) Allen; nephews, Hunter Allen and Lenny Phillips; niece, Amelia Allen; aunts, Tammy (Hector) Aquino and Teresa (Rickey) Oeth; uncle, James Allen, cousins, Angel (Ryan) Hasty, Thomas (Tonya) Crow, Crystal (Cameron) King, Heavan (Chris) Hedrick, Tori (Levi) Hammond and he had a relationship with almost every 1st, 2nd and beyond cousins. He was preceded in death by father, David James Allen; grandparents, Thomas and Judith Crull and Beatrice Davis. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street Anderson, Indiana, 46013. A memorial service will follow visitation on Sunday at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
