Donald K. Barnett

Anderson - Donald K. Barnett, 77, Anderson, died July 13, 2002 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born February 28, 1925 in Sulfer Springs, and resided in Anderson, IN. He had lived in this area all of his life. He was self employed in Aero Industrial sales. He was a graduated of Sulpher Springs High School. He was a Corporal in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater 2nd Armoured Division, where he received 4 Bronze stars, a victory medal in World War II and played trumpet in the Second Armored Band after the war ended in Europe. He was a member of Southern Heights Christian Church in Anderson. He was active in the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Acadamy of Model Aeronautics. He built model airplanes for competition with his son and grandson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Anne Proch Barnett, whom he married November 23, 1946 at The Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown, Ohio. Three Children: James P. Barnett and wife Carolyn of Anderson, Pamela A. Ritchison and husband John D. of Anderson, Bruce K. Barnett and wife Crystal of Batesville. 2 Sisters: Joyce Lee and Husband Norman of Florida, and Frances Pierce of Indianapolis. 6 Grandchildren: Brian D. Barnett of Florida, Emily A. Barnett-Sharp and Husband Nigel of Australia, Andrew J. Ritchison and wife Kara of Indianapolis, Adam D. Ritchison and wife Erin of Anderson, Keith R. Barnett of Batesville, Melinda temple of Kokomo 3 Step Grandchild: A.J. Shute, Carla Schute, and Luke Shute all of Batesville Also surviving are 5 nieces and 1 nephew He was preceded in death by his Parents: Ernest L.'' Pat'' Barnett and Nella Faddy 2 Sisters: Georgianna Barnett and Eloise Renner Services will be Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at 10:00 am, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home - South Chapel, with Rev. Ed Wilkinson of Southern Heights Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson . Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday July 16, 2002 at Robert D.
