Wayne G. Johnston

Anderson - Wayne G. Johnston, 92, Anderson, died June 22, 2006 at his daughter?s residence after an extended illness. He was born March 29, 1914 in at home north of Parker City in Delaware County, Indiana, and was an Anderson resident since June of 1957. Wayne had done essential war work at Overmeyer Mould Company in Winchester and was a former employee of Emge Packing Company in the maintenance department. He had retired from Building Trades. He had worked for Tibbetts and Sater Electric General Contractors. He was currently a member of Anderson First Church of the Nazarene and formerly attended Parkview Church of the Nazarene. He was a devout, active christian since 1949. He was a Sunday School teacher since 1957. He had also been church treasurer, board member and lay leader. He was a member of Bethany Brotherhood, International Order of Forresters and Plumbers & Steamfitters Union Local #661 in Muncie. He was a private pilot and a Ham Radio Operator. He and his wife wintered in Arcadia, Florida. Wayne?s sense of humor stayed with him to the very end. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Adams Johnston whom he married November 20, 1999 at Parkview Church of the Nazarene; two children, Loreeta A. & husband Jerry Mahoney of Markleville and David M. & wife JoAnne Johnston of Daleville; two step-children, Jan & husband Don Tremain of Alexandria and Steve & wife Nancy Adams of Anderson; a brother, Donovan & wife Betty Johnston of Winchester; a sister-in-law, Eadie Johnston of Chesterfield; six grandchildren, Jodie & husband Steve Scales, Sharon & husband Nelson Escalante, Brian & wife Yukiko Mahoney, David Johnston Jr. & wife Brenda, Shannon & husband Garry Kelly, Jeffrey & wife Michelle Mahoney; nine great grandchildren, Jacquelynn Scales, Daniel Pittman, Sasha Kelly, Amanda Kelly, Lori Johnston, Monica Johnston, Nelson Escalante, Joy Ellen Escalante and Cheri Grace Escalante; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen E. Owens Johnston whom he married November 7, 1936 and who passed away on October 16, 1998; his parents, Willard W. & Lela V. Clore Johnston; three sisters, Juanita Turner, Marjorie LaRita Johnston and Belva Zorn; and two brothers, Roe Dale Johnston and Robert Johnston. Services will be Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 11:30 AM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Keith McKain and Dr. James Storey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 PM on Monday, June 26, 2006 at Funeral Home, South Chapel.
